Can. Pours a murky orange color without much head. Wet hop ale with the old school C-hops. Aroma is not much to talk about. Damp, dank and almost skunky hops. Maybe some peachy hops. Pine. Pretty rugged and unrefined. Flavor is aggressive. Super bitter. Some bubblegum hop. A strong aspirin flavor too. Piney finish. Minimal malt interference. Too bitter and abrasive without any flavors that combat the harshness. Medium bodied. Long, bitter finish. Not what I am looking for at this specific moment.

Heavy, mildly bitter, hardly aromatic yet a pretty beer. Where are the hops?! Seriously, I'm hoping for a big C-hop nose and I barely get a whiff. I think Black Hog really misses the mark here. Disapoinying. I'm 50-50 with this brewery. Some good. Some not so good. Inconsistent.

Big thanks to DrunkinYogi for this delectable beer from Black Hog in Connecticut

Pours an almost clear white gold topped by a pure white finger of thick foam that leaves wallpaper lace behind as it relaxes to a lasting skim.

Medium strength nose that is all the goodness of citrus zest with some pine and caramel sweet to round it into a tasty aroma.

Wow the pine sure takes a more prominent role in the taste, joined by herbal bitter and grapefruit zest to make a full strength attack on the hop pleasure zone. Caramel malts join in but are not that great of a balance to the hops, and not that great tasting either, don't know why the craramel doesn't taste right. End of sip is bitter but not astringent, full of resinous herbal dank.

Full bodied, highly viscous, yet very drinkable, and a finish that is a magnificent bitter linger.

Decent brew for the hop fanatic that won't be satisfied by less than a war of charging hops within the beer. Recommended for those who fit this description.

16oz tallboy can, sample from the brewery.

Big head from a hard pour, slightly hazed dull golden hue. Smells of fresh hay, grassy hop, hint of yeast, and some ripe pears. Pungent hop flavor throughout, bitterness is there but it is the raw hop flavor that is what takes over the palate for a bit. Dry and cracker-like in the middle, lots more raw hop flavor in the finish. Not your usual beer, fun to drink though the hop burn is pretty strong. Thankfully may taste buds can handle it.

First real wet hopped IPA I've tasted. Poured a lighter color than what I expected. I was thinking the orange hue. THe nose was very interesting. No question about the hops. But it didnt have that strong pine grapefruit aroma. There was more going on. A richness, a softness.
The first sip was soft and covered my mouth with a blanket of hops, bitter, a touch of sweetness, yeast, etc.

Nice clean after taste. Not a dry finish, instead softness. I guess, that is my best adjective for this beer: SOFT

Had at the brewery today, pours a clearer golden color with a nice head, decent retention. Smells of a light kick of hops but the malt isn't so good, maybe extract? Carries over to the flavor, there's decent sweetness from the malt that provide a backbone, middle is very herbal and leafy hops, a touch earthy. Finishes bitter with an odd vegetal aftertaste. Lighter than expected body and easy to drink, just not as good as I thought it would be, very underwhelming for wet hops.
