On-tap 12/9/2016 at Doherty’s Ale House in Warwick, RI, served in a tulip glass.
A: The beer is a deep gold color, with a large orangish white head that fades slowly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains Belgian yeast, some fruit, some spice, caramelized malts and a touch of hops.
T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of caramel, fruit and some spice. Then some breadiness comes in from Belgian yeast and a hearty malt character. The hops presence is very mild but brings some balance. The after-taste is sweet and slightly bready.
M: Crisp and smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: A little tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, good kick, decent representation of style, this is a decent beer to drink for a while but there are better choices available in the style.
