BLACK HOG THE HOP COLLECTIVE IPA BATCH #1 5/21/18
Bought a single by mistake thinking it was Collective Arts, whose brews I have enjoyed. That makes this one an adventure.
a; Translucent amber with a huge two inch white head requiring additional pours, eventually receding to thick surface foam and very dense lacing.
s: Mild bready malt.
t: Follows the nose along with slight fruit notes and light to moderate bitterness, all in a hefty-feeling malt base. Dry finish.
m; Heavier side of medium, excellent body and good carbonation tingle.
o; A substantial, if somewhat disappointingly uncitrusy (considering the advertised hops) flavor. Still, enjoyable and satisfying, which cannot be said of that many sessionables. Almost oinks quality. Unfortunately the price of one pint can made my wallet oink in protest, so I'll not likely be buying more of this soon.

Picked-up a single can at Cedarville Wine and Spirits for three dollars and forty five cents. No canned-on date visible. First and last brew from these guys - absolutely horrible, give myself a 5 for finishing it.
