You know, I can only recall one beer I’ve had that uses hazelnut as an adjunct, just a sample pour of a stout from Long Live Beerworks and it was amazing, so I have high hopes here
Pours a dee brown, nearly black with a finger of espresso colored head that fades to a cap, no lacing
Aromas of coffee roast, slight nuttiness, hazelnut, cream. This is not very milk-stouty in the aroma as it’s not super sweet smelling
The taste here is really similar, starting with the hazelnut and some earthy hops. By the end of the sip it transforms into more bitter, black coffee territory with a hint of sweetness from the lactose but not much
Medium body with barely any carbonation, this sadly comes off a but thin and watery in the finish, not particularly encouraging me to pick it up for another sip
Well that one was kind of disappointing, but it could’ve went way worse. I had high hopes as I said, and that might be part of why I was let down. Regardless, a decent flavored milk stout
