I tried this on draft at Hunger N Thirst for the Beer Geek Christmas event served chilled in a snifter.
The color is a crimson shade with translucent hue and thin off white head. the smell is slightly sour and has a fruity scent with mild berry quality. The feel is pretty impressive -very tart yet not so intense as to be off putting, just sour with a nice level of sweetness and carbonation to balance.
The taste is great the syrah provides a vinous red grape tang with light tannin and yeast creates slight raspberry and tropical fruit tartness with a light wood quality in the taste with vibrant flavors and mild funk. This is a superior wine barrel aged brew, I was glad I was able to try it- well done OEC!
