This one pours a slightly hazy golden orange, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like very funky peach, some light acidity, funky green grapes, lemon, and a biting funk.
I tend to really like most entries in this series, and this one wasn’t gonna be an exception to that rule. I’ve never had a gooseberry on its own, but I guess they kind of taste like grapes? I definitely some grape-like musty and tannic funk here, with a nice sharp, funky, and juicy peach note. There’s lots of white wine, some light oak, and a good hit of lemony tartness.
This is lighter bodied, with a much more manageable acidity than OEC generally puts out there.
OEC tends to do fruited wild ales really well, especially in the Experimentalis series.

There hasn't been many OEC beers that have really sparked high praise from me until now. This beer poured out as a nice hazy golden color with a fading white head on top. The smell of the beer has a good amount of funk on the nose. The taste of the beer has some very nice fruit and berry notes that blend well together along with the acidity from the open air fermentation/barrel aging. The feel is light bodied, sharp and tangy. Overall this is probably the best I've had from OEC and essentially what I had been hoping to have from them for a while now. Definitely worth trying in my opinion.
