On tap at Gourmet Haus Staudt.

Mildly hazy amber. Nose is super acetic and bright with vanillin, white wine, vinegar, earth, sour. The palate opens bright and tart but way the fuck too sour with too much vinegar and white wine vinegar. Too sour.

i think its cool they use alvinne base beer in this blend, i wonder if those guys think its cool they are playing around with their beer, i have always wondered that with this oec stuff, that takes notable foreign beers and incorporates them into their own, this one with lambic types and some grapes from their property. clearish and bronze from the tap, maybe a shade lighter than that, not much head after the initial pour, so stoked to see some one of these beers on tap in colorado! it smells more or less like lambic, aged hops, tons of oak, lots of mature funk, and some interesting maltiness higher than usual in the style, a cool blend for sure, even though i dont smell much of the fruit, i definitely get some of the wine barrels on it. hints of vanilla and apple to me, a little breadiness in the grain, well aged. the flavor is cool, i get some tartness from the skins and a touch of sweet for a moment with the grain. still a lot of bacterial sourness too, but not too much to drink this up, and a ton of old woody funky to it, really lambic-esque in flavor, but with some neat added complexities. i love the grapes in here, subtle as they are, and i like that i can still taste the familiar alvinne yeast in this. awesome stuff, i hope to see more oec beers around town! always high end and intriguing with these guys. fancy and delicious!
