2020 vintage.
Bright orange, sharp clarity, a finger of fizzy foam that fades in a minute or two.
Aroma is sharp with noticeable vinegary acetic acid. Dried orange peel, bread dough, citrus vinegar.
A lot of rough acetone in this one, sharp burning sourness. Painful to drink at times, it’s enamel stripping. Softens a little over time, I recommend letting it sit out for awhile. Definitely too rough and acetic.

Poured from a bottle (22Dec2020) into a Grimm geuze glass
L: pours a turbid, orange gold with a very large, crackling head. No visible carbonation, yet head has stuck around for ~30 minutes
S: classic, excellent lambic aroma. Bit of cheese, barnyard funk - granny smith (my wife called that out from ~5 feet away), green/white grapes, peach, apricot. Nicely tart. The fruit character is really nicely pronounced here, more than I would say in a similar 3F brew - overall a very inviting nose
T: swallow follows incredibly well. Opens with that cheesy, barnyard funk with those unique fruit notes suggested by the nose coming in close behind. Excellent granny smith character that plays well with the tart character of the brew. There’s a sweeter fruit-forward note toward the finish I really like - kind of a peach/welches white grape juice type thing. Finish is fairly smooth, I definitely want another sip but it leaves a more rounded sensation than that acidic I’m going right back in feeling.
F: high- carbonation, light+ body. Great carbonation, dances on your tongue. Balanced acidity, moderately/appropriately drying
O: I’m very impressed with this - one of the most well-balanced American geuzes I’ve ever had, with a unique fruit-forward character that I don’t think I’ve encountered before. Don’t have much to compare it against, but regardless of style this is a superb brew
