really awesome wild beer here, super funky, red wine forward, curiously fruity, mature, and a delight to encounter and get to drink on tap, thanks to prefunk in nampa for always having the headies! kind of a muted brassy tone to this, some airy but kind of lazy looking white bubbles on top, looks nice in the globe though. aroma of green pear, white grape, complex red wine, old oak, and some really interesting funk, bretty more than sour to me, but a mix of strains or something wild captured, its not all the way familiar, a little citric tartness apparent too, hay and straw, clover honey, dried orange peel, wow. the flavor is just a tad less expressive to me than the nose, seems wheat based underneath but old on the grain side no, lots of wood here, dried berries and cherries, more fragrant pear, dried flowers, rock candy, brandy, port wine, dried apricot, even brown sugar or rum, trace vinegar and bacterial acidity, but this really isnt sour. lovely funkiness and complexity, dry to finish, an almost bottle conditioned softness yet effervescence to it, really pleasant liveliness for all these mature flavors, oddly drinkable for something of this depth. these guys continue to deliver, i wish i had more access to their stuff, but its incredible that some of it is in fact making it out to idaho. this was killer, a rarity it seems, really enjoyable!
