L: Pours a medium amber with medium haze. A slightly aggressive pour yields a 5mm off-white head that immediately dissipates leaving a slight ring of head around the circumference of the glass.
S: white grapes, red cherries, some woody funk, a bit of earthy tobacco, lactic acid, and light notes of oak
T: On the front end I get white grape and some funk. Mid palate I get more grape and pronounced woody funk. The back end presents dark cherry mixing with a light oakiness and more woody funk (i am getting maybe a slight tobacco note here). The finish has a nice clement tartness.
F: Light to light-medium body with a nice soft mouthfeel that turns vinous on the finish.
O: Well crafted and complex. The bottle recommends serving at 46° F but I would let it warm up a bit more as for me the nose and palate really started to shine at about 49-50° F. I hope they do a similar blend in the future. I have one more 500ml and a magnum of this in the cellar and am excited to see how this develops over time. Highly recommended!
