Can code but no date
Pours a frothy fizzy 1/2 finger head with fair retention, a bit of lacing, semi hazy med orange color
Nose brings malts up front, a bit of sweet malt, some toasted biscuity Munich like malt, cereal, little bready, light herbal hop
Taste comes with more of that mild malt sweetness, mostly pilsner like cereal doughy bready malt, with a bit of toasted biscuity Munich like malt, light floral herbal hops in the background with lighter bitterness, semi dry finish with a bit more hop bitterness kicking in
Mouth is med bod, med frothy carb
Overall pretty good, within style, not as much malt depth and complexity as a good German version, but still enjoyable for a Festbier

This one pours a golden amber color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells caramelly and toasty, with bread crust, spicy hops, herbal bitterness, and a very light fruitiness.
This is exactly what I want from this style – a firm, pleasant, but unobtrusive spicy and herbal hop bitterness, with a complex and dense malt backbone. There’s rye toast drizzled with caramel and honey. This is all well balanced.
This is medium bodied, super crisp, and very drinkable.
I liked their oak aged marzen they did a few years back, and they’ve also done this more basic version really well.

Pours a cloudy, rusty orange; very little head formation or lacing. Nose is roasted malt, caramel, melba toast, red apple, and coffee grounds (??). Taste is sweet red apple-forward, a bit tart; sugary apple cider and light hop spice. Moderate carbonation and a bit slick.

Had on tap. Murky orange body, full off-white head, crowned lacing. Smell: toast leads bready yeast, acorn, and mild sweet dark malts. Taste is much the same until the end which has solid earthy hops. Feel is light but never thin, higher in carb yet still full. Paired well with wurst platter

Poured from an undated, 16oz can into the test glass.
A - Light copper color, very good clarity, thin loose knit cap is quick to exit.
S - Tettnang hops, up front, a bit of lemongrass, with an earthy thread. Add a hint of roasty malts and touch of caramel
T - All the aromatics for sure, with a bit more of the malt on the palate. That Tettnang hop thread is lovely
M - Well balanced, semi sweet start, nice shift from the bittering hops, excellent attenuation. Nice dry finish
O - A very good Festbier, one that i will keep around while its the season

16oz draft poured into a dimpled mug shows a clear, fizzy, gold body supporting a 1/2 in head of tight white bubbles that falls to a wispy cap and leaves random spotted lacing.
Bready aroma is slightly toasted and joined by hints of floral hops flowing smoothly into the taste.
Mouthfeel is a clean, medium, just short of crisp, welcoming more sips, no, gulps of beer.
Overall a solid example of the style.

I've only previously had their foeder pilsner, and that one was funky for my palate, so I was wary.
Wow, this delivers the flavors, and without the funk. A really balanced take on the style, with excellent lightly toasted malt character kept perfectly in check to yield only the slightest sweet bready character. Finish is crisp and clean.

I had this on draft 9/25/23 @ the Hopleaf.
Semi-opaque orange appearance.
Small off-white head; frothy lacing remained.
Acorn, mild caramel & faint strawberry notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Oak, acorn & faint red fruit flavors.
Unique for a marzen...and delicious. I'd have another!

Pours a light copper color with about a half finger of head. The nose has very modest notes of toasted bread. The flavor is earthy with some grainy notes and a slightly bitter finish. The body is thin for the style.
