Picked up a single at the Greenville Beer Exchange 10-6-23 for $5.24. No can date; consumed 9-14-24.

Beer poured murky brown with an okay off-white head.

Nose is nice, getting notes of caramel malts and fruits.

Taste is really nice as the moderately toasted malt base works well with the yeast strain and is giving me a good dose of raisin as well as a nice pear and apple. Finishes appropriately sweet but i like the toasted finish.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, with a nice soft and smooth feel with each sip.

Overall, a very enjoyable beer that is still drinking well given its age!

12 ounce can, no dating I could find on it. Thanks to Brutaltruth for this one! Served in a chalice, the beer pours a brownish/amber color with about an inch light tan head that stuck around a while. There's also a good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like raisins, clove, toffee and caramel. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some bready malt and rum flavors noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a good overall brew, certainly worth trying if you get the chance.

From the 12 oz can in a snifter. This interesting little dubbel pours a
hazed burnt auburn with a moderate head of off white foam that settles
to a thick ring, thin clumping layer, and sports some light lacing. Nose of
rum raisin, brown sugars, toffee, and coriander hints. Flavors surpass
the nose with rum raisin, toffee, cherry hints, candy sugars, and subtle
coriander and clove hints. Mouth feel is medium, light carbonation, and a
lightly dry finish.

Overall, a decent little brew

Just a day after having my first fruited Dubbel, I’m having yet another one. This one sounds more interesting though. Instead of figs as in Brewery Bhavana’s Sprout, this one has raisins that were soaked in their Rum Barrel Aged Cuvee de Gorgoroth. I haven’t had the rum barrel version of that beer, but the OG is wildly complex and I’m sure some of that complexity will shine through here. Let’s get into it

Pours a murky medium brown with a finger of creamy light beige head that fades to thin cap and leaves minimal lacing

The nose is indeed quite complex, boldly fruity with a touch of booze. I’m picking up on aromas of candi sugar, sweet raisin, molasses, funky rum, dark bread, honey, black pepper, light toffee, and black cherry

It’s quite similar in taste, and definitely has its own unique vibe. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting brown sugar, sweet raisin, black cherry, molasses, smoky tobacco, dark toast, funky rum, overripe banana, and light clove. The swallow brings notes of candi sugar, jammy raisin, molasses, brown sugar, dark bread, black cherry, toffee, peat smoke, and light cocoa powder

A medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes mostly dry with a nice balanced bite

This is certainly one of the most unique Dubbel’s I’ve ever tried, and certainly better than yesterday’s. Highly recommend

Opaque reddish brown body with two fingers of tan foam. Smell is a dark fruit explosion, with dark belgian yeast and candi sugar. Taste has bitter earth tones to yeast, dark fruit less sweet and dry, dark phenols on finish, odd and wanting to like it more than I do. Feel is yeasty more than malty, smooth and warming, but kind of languid. Solid dubbel but don't need to have again

Blue Jays fly, babies cry. Lions roar, eagles
soar. And Raul, oh, Raul… Sometimes the feeling of a king, but without a throne. And when I drink OEC Dubbel… Yeah, still no throne. Maybe a bean bag. Yeah, those things that you thought were cool as a kid, but if you sat in one right now your sciatic nerve would probably give out.

Support your back, my children.

No can date
Pours a fizzy tan foamy 1 finger head with moderate retention, little lacing, hazy sediment laden fan ruby to auburn color

Nose sweet candy malt, caramel, toffee, malt derived esters fruit, raisin, fig, date, biscuity toffee, molasses, little spicy hop

Taste starts semi sweet again, more toffee, caramel, biscuity, molasses, toasted malt, bread crust, dark fruits with raisin, fig, date, little prune, mild spicy hops with fair bitterness, semi sweet sticky finish

Mouth is med to fuller bod, lighter carb, low alcohol

Overall more like American strong red ale or something, don't get a lot of theBelgian yeast characters, but decent beer

Pours clear, ruby in color with one third inch head. Taste is dark bread, raisin and burnt caramel. Medium body and carbonation, slightly sweet. Excellent dubbel...about as good as they come domestically. Excellent beer.
