EXPERIMENTALIS is our barrel aging project using fruits that are grown in our Horticultural Area. Each release is unique and no two releases will taste the same.
This version of Experimentalis With Plums is a blend of 1 & 2 year old ales matured on our orchard plums (We have 3 different varieties: Burgundy, Methley & Satusma) in Cabernet Sauvignon (Gandona Vineyards, St. Helena, CA) barrels.

This one pours a golden and radiant pinkish-red color, with a small head, and a bit of lacing.
This is what I’m used to for OEC – it’s quite fruity and very tart on the nose, with funky lemon and lots of wine aromas.
This is quite tart, but very tasty, with a fresh and jammy plum note, lots of tart lemony funk, a hearty acidity, and some light oakiness.
This is a slow sipper, due to the intensity of flavor and acidity here, but it’s still a pleasantly drank pour.
I pretty much always enjoy this series.
