This one pours a dark-ish brown color, a little muddy, with a very small head, and no lacing.
This smells like tart dark fruit, raisin, cherry, caramel, and port wine.
The quad they used seems to be very, very dark fruit forward here. It’s done in a way I can’t honestly sign off on – I like some dark fruit flavor in my strong ales, but this is a bit much. There’s not enough hefty malty goodness outside of the dark berry and plum notes.
This is medium bodied, a little bit flat due to low carbonation. It’s a slow supper due to being not the most pleasant sip.
I really like OEC usually but this was a bit disappointing.

Had on tap at the brewery. Pours hazy, brown in color with one inch head. Taste is oak, brown sugar and rum. Heavy body, moderate low carbonation, sweet. Excellent and complex strong ale.
