The only other Experimentalis vairant I had (Meyer Lemon) was one of my favorite OEC beers. Naturally when I saw this one when I stopped there a few weeks ago I just had to pick it up. Let's pop it open and find out what it's all about
Pours a cloudy orange gold with 2 fingers of soapy off whit head that fades to a ring and leaves minimal lacing
Oh man, this is super bright in the nose, thankfully not going the sweeter route of many other raspberry Wild Ales. I'm picking up on aromas of lime juice, sharp oak, white pepper, tart raspberry, petrichor, red wine vinegar, hay, black cherry, lemon zest, and brown sugar
There's a certain funk in taste that reminds me a lot of my favorite Wild Ales from Springdale (RIP). On the front end of the sip I'm tasting red grapefruit, lime zest, brown sugar, sharp oak, jammy raspberry, stone, light chamoy, tannic red wine, and white pepper. The swallow brings notes of lemon juice, sharp oak, lime zest, brown sugar, coriander, stone, red wine vinegar, jammy raspberry, and old leather
A medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a sharp beer. Finishes bone dry and refreshing
This one is damn good, and I have to give it a bump in the overall for the nostalgia and the fun of it
