This is a great take on the style. On tap at The Locksmith Bar in Manhattan. Dim lighting make this look almost black but more like a clear super dark brown. Mild head of a light brown hue. Decent lace. Nose is full of coffee and chocolate. Nice sweetness from I guess a combination of lactose and malt sugars. Tast is much the same Like a perfect cup of mocha. Deep chocolate notes flow into a well done coffee bitteness that balances and enhances the roasted malt and chocolate notes. Feel is light and silky smooth. No hint of alcohol anywhere. So easy drinking, so satisfying on a cold winter you just want to go glass after glass. Excellent beer.
