Rokko Beer - Susanoo IPA

L- Deep amber, slightest hint of haze, 1Cm fine off-white head, forms lacing right down the glass.
S- Quite clear fruit notes, esp. lychee.
T- West Coast IPA profile, ie quite striking hops together with fruit and subtle perfumed floral notes. But, it being Japanese, it has been crafted with balance as a goal, so at no point is the hopping OTT.
F- It's refreshing, the hopping is quite prominent, it would make a lovely refreshing beer after a trip to the onsen (hot spring) or hard-day out skiing in Hokkaido, or just kicking back elsewhere in the world...
O- Nice beer, different for sure, contemporary in style with 'modern hopping', but being Japanese they have ensured it comes with balance.
Comes in a 330ml bottle with a mostly dayglo green lable, featuring a severely grumpy looking metallised-print sword-bearing warrior of some type emerging from a thicket of hops. Text on lable: 'Rokko Beer - Susanoo IPA - This Beer gives you a smile.' ... if so, someone better get one for the guy with the sword!
