LARGE foamy head that takes up 7/8 of the glass. As it settles (slowly), pot marks show up on the surface. Eventually, it becomes rocky. Large chunky streaks/spots are left on the glass. Hazy, dirty gold color.
Malty first whiff followed by a subtle but distinctly floral hop bouquet. Not as balanced as I initially thought, but still well within the parameters of the West Coast style.
A bit thin with a higher carbonation level. The flavor, though, is true to expectations--a relatively dry beer with a definitively hoppy bite that is easy to drink. The malt remains throughout the tasting through the aftertaste while the bittering hop comes in slowly, providing balance in the finish.
