Deep mahogany & dark brown, like the flesh of a dark cherry that's turning bad. Sand coloured head has a minute or two retention.
Mild aroma, caramel malt, touch of rye spice.
Roasted malt leads the way, touches of caramel and toffee, and again light spice like a rye bread. There's a coca cola note too it, cherry coke, which is accentuated by the bubbly carbonation. Medium body, slightly syrupy from residual sugar. On the sweet side for sure, but there's at least some balance from a crisp notes in the feel.
The malt flavours are great, it's just too sugary, requires some balance. Also under-carbonated.

Dark brown with little carbonation and topped with 3 fingers of beige head.
Smells of toasted malts, caramel, Corn syrup and cocoa.
The taste follows the nose but is much dryer.
Medium body and medium low carbonation.
Got at LCBO and drinking in New Hamburg, July 3rd, 2018. Decent brew with hints of Wellington County style.

473 can from lcbo. This Irish Red Ale is just ok. Very little nose. Heavy on Hops and very heavy on Malts. Tastes kinda of like a cross of an ESB and a brown ale. but with a small touch of peat. Pours dark murky brown with a non lasting cap and little glass lacing. A bit too heavy bodied for me (given abv 5.2%). Drinkable but not really Impressive.
