I received this can of World Burp Beer as a gift while I was in Japan. It was brewed in the USA for sale in Japan for the World Cup 2002.
Presentation: Green and red 350 mL can with a burping soccer ball on the front and how to say "burp" in 10 languages on the back. Web site listed as http://www.ezo-beer.com/worldgep/ . Stamped on the bottom of the can EXP 030327 .
Appearance: Pours to give a very light amber beer with some white foam that very quickly dissipates.
Smell: The aroma is mild - perhaps a faint touch of malt and something sweet (sugar?), and perhaps some other grain?
Taste: The taste is thin, like Bud Light. There is some maltiness with a little bit of hop bitterness. There is a sweet aftertaste. A translation of the Japanese web site reads in part: * Capacity / 350ml can * raw material / malt (under use comparative 25%), hop and saccharide * alcohol 5.5%.
Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel is very thin with modest carbonation (like Bud Light).
Drinkability: Tolerable, but I don't really want more of this beer.
Just a weird novelty beer.
