a light pink to rose colored hazy brew with just a thin white head on it. pretty and soft looking, if a little less lively than it could. aroma is sweet, almost raspberry syrup, not overly intense in the flavor, kind of desserty, jammy, concentrated in the aroma. white wheat malt, cereal, subtle citrus and lemongrass, some other fruity esters too, maybe from the yeast. the raspberry is a little more relaxed in the flavor, but i am not entirely convinced this is done with natural fruit. there is a real sweetness in here, almost unnatural to the fruit itself, like more raspberry than raspberry itself, if that makes sense. some syrup or something. not bad though, i like what it adds, and the sweetness is almost needed to spruce up the somewhat drab or bland malt base, which is light but uninteresting. if there was more carbonation here, like really lively, i would like this beer a lot more. it tastes just a tad cheap, but it is well proportioned. this is a mellow easy drinker that likely has wide appeal in its home market.

For this to be their best beer and somehow win an award, its quiet lacking. Very watered down and light with hints of raspberries...more wheat than anything. Comparable to a mass market brew in many ways. I think a 3 is even being a little generous.

At the source! Served from tap in to a Weizen glass. Poured a pinkish yellow-orange with a one finger white head that subsided to a half finger slowly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, raspberry, wheat, slight funk, and lambic-like. The flavor was of sweet malt, raspberry, wheat, slight funk, and earth. It had a light feel on the palate with high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty good brew. I was excited to hear about this one coming up quite awhile back at the brewery and it definitely disappoint. Very light and refreshing with a nice touch of complex flavor and aroma. The raspberries made themselves known throughout which helped with the refreshing aspect. A very well done brew that I would suggest for just about anyone without hesitation. Tick.
