Braustil "Helles"
on tap at the brewery on 17 Septmebr 2021
Notes: 4.8% ABV
Look: Clear deep gold body beneath a full head of dense bright white foam. It has very good head retention and leaves craggy, broken sheets of lace about the glass.
Smell: Floral, softly spicy, and somewhat lemony over sweetish and grainy malt.
Taste: Sweetish and grainy malt is soaked through with an herbal character that includes lemon balm. Delicately spicy and dry with a firm bitterness.
Feel: Medium bodied and crisp with a standard level of carbonation.
Overall: A fuller flavored Helles with a solid maltiness, lots of hop flavor, and bitterness.

One of my favorite beers here is the Helles, which I mistakenly called a Pils in my original review of this place. I like it because it tastes like a real Bayrische Helles, unfiltered, fresh as hell, more like a Kellerbier, one I keep coming back to again and again.
Appearance: looks more like a Pils but very cloudy. It's unfiltered and unpasteurized. It's super fresh because they rebrew this beer almost every 3 or 4 weeks after it sells out.
Aroma- a little pils malt but then, nada.
Flavor-
Front- lots of noble hops with some lemon flavor, some tartness, taste like Hallertauer or Tettnanger, at least a Noble hop nice.
Mid: it's got bitterness of hops, nothing overwhelming bit nice floral flavs.
Back, lots of pils malts, caramel, tartness. Overall, very nice and best of their beers.
It's one of the only beers they keep on tap at all times. Yummy beer.
