September 20th, 2016 - For a blood, this is very fruity. A diabetic vampire, perhaps? But the color isn't far off from a cup of Vlad's favorite tipple, and the smell has a metallic rustiness that starts to hint at something more sinister. But it is sweet as well. That more saccharine side is amplified in the flavor, where a hoppy note squares off with the taste of strawberry starburst and strawberry Japanese pocky. It's a solid flavor, even if it clashes with itself a bit. I'm still having fun imagining this is a pint of O negative.

4oz snifter glass from the flight
On tap at the brewery – 10.09.15
Dark amber, russet brown look as it has a sort of pastel wash to it. Nice frothy capper of khaki foam. Healthy lace is noted upon the glass.
Caramel malts and baked bread with light stone fruit, pine, and some citrus zest. More malt forward but stays frothy and light with a moderate fill to it and semi dry finish.
Toasted breads and toffee like caramel sweets with orange zest and moderate pine. Would like more here but this is still nice. Lower actual perceived bitterness.
Well balanced alcohol overall given this is an Imperial. A little watered down but has some solid toasted malt flavors.
