The first decent beer out of the Presidential 4-pack. The IPA and the Red Ale were weak. This Porter is pretty good. Poured a dense brown color with no light coming through. Small light tan head that fades fast but leaves first a covering and then a ring around the top of the glass. Decent aroma, mostly semi sweet chocolate with some roasted malt and a little coffee. Taste features the chocolate, a little roasted malt and coffee. Overall sort of sweet, with a little bitterness in the background. Mouthfeel is the best part, very smooth, somewhat sweet with a little balancing bitterness. Goes down real easy. When I went to the brewery, the cannery was down and they only had one style in a bomber - a very good Red Ale. That Red Ale and this beer are very worth-while. Looking forward to the last of the Presidential a4 pack - the Blonde Ale.
