16 ounce can - $4.25 at Listermann Brewing Company in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Appearance: Pours a very dark brown body with a slim, thinning, very brief head.

Smell: A bit sweet-scented, Hershey's chocolate sauce amongst some darker roasted grains hinting of coffee, vanilla.

Taste: Moderately sweet start of chocolate, lesser caramel atop a rather easy-going stout that doesn't swing too particularly roasty or harsh akin to an abundance of black patent. Very mild touches of sweetened, light roast coffee, flash of vanilla-infused oats. The middlingly sweet, light flavors roll around before closing out on the thinning finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied (albeit rather light-leaning, as I've found with many Listermann beers). Medium carbonation.

Overall: It's alright.

Dark brown, nearly black body; very thick, dense, and creamy light khaki head. Heavenly blend of cocoa, mocha, milk chocolate, vanilla, and gently roasted grains in the smell. Sweet milk chocolate taste infused with cocoa powder; vanilla. Heavy body; smooth and oily on the palate; excellent residual sugar body.

Listermann's casts this beer as an Irish cream stout. It certainly comes across with a fine blend of sweetness, chocolate, and creaminess. It is very rich and complex. No bottling information found on the bottle.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a thin brown head that dissipates to a thick film with light lacing. Aroma of semi-sweet, dark toasted malt, vanilla and chocolate; lots of chocolate. Flavor is dark toasted and biscuit malt with light char, dark and baker's chocolate, mild vanilla; more char and some mild caramel develop in the finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A quite impressive flavor depth for the modest ABV. This is one of the most chocolatey light stouts I've tasted. Although it is drier than the Irish Crème it professes to emulate, it has a very nice foreign export / dry stout base that is a appropriate for the Isles. From the aroma and name, I expected something sweeter, but I'm not disappointed, this tastes great. Glad to have tried two brews from Listermann and hope to see others.

12 ounce bottle
Served in a snifter

This beer pours black and is topped with less than an inch of tan head that leaves no lacing.

The aroma is vanilla and milk chocolate.

The taste is pretty much the same as the aroma, vanilla and milk chocolate.

Medium mouthfeel with low carbonation

I guess a chain, fast food restaurant warped my mind. I figured this would be a mint stout. It was still tasty. I need to unclutter my mind.
