This beer pours black in color and is topped with an inch of mocha head that leaves very little lacing.

I get dark fruit aromas with some dark chocolate and anise. I don't pick up any bourbon barrel character.

The taste is similar to the smell, although the dark fruit is not as big a player as it was in the smell. Flavors of anise and dark chocolate are pronounced. I get a little oak in the taste but still no bourbon.

Full mouthfeel with low carbonation

This was a pretty good beer but not as good as I expected from Listermann. I was surprised and disappointed in the lack of depth from bourbon barrel aging.
