12 ounce bottle, no dating that I could find on it but looking at the BA reviews of this apparently it's not fresh. Haven't had this bottle for too long either so there's still some sitting around on the shelves, just bought it because I hadn't seen it before and it sounded interesting. Served in a chalice, the beer pours a slightly hazy gold color with about an inch off-white head that didn't stay around for too long. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like gin, earthiness, honeydew melon, and some wood. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's the addition of some bready malt, apricot and some citrus. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit slick and easy to drink with a low/moderate amount of carbonation. Even with the age on this, I thought it was an enjoyable brew. Hopefully Listermann will revisit this one in the future because I'd like to try a fresher version of it.

12 fl. oz. bottle
Served in a becker glass

This beer pours golden with a slight haze to it. It is topped with a mountain of off white head that leaves a little lacing.

I can smell the melon and some of the botanicals from the gin, but they do not completely cover the base blonde ale.

The taste kind of comes across as a beer cocktail. The melon is easily picked out. The gin is more noticeable in the finish. It has a refreshing, summer cocktail flavor. It has a Belgian pale ale taste.

Medium mouthfeel and highly effervescent.

I have only had a couple of gin barrel aged beers. The gin seems to give the beer a refreshing quaffability. I like it, and it was perfect for a rare 70+ degree February day in Ohio.
