Poured from a bottle into a Stone IRS snifter. The pour is very dark and opaque with no light escaping through. Low carbonation. The head dissipates almost immediately. On the nose I get lots of rich notes including bourbon, toasted oak, creme brulee, and milk chocolate.
Full body with a firm feel and a rich flavor. Some roastiness up front, then lots of toffee, bourbon, bittersweet chocolate, and some sarsaparilla on the finish. I have a strong preference for the regular Cranium. The rich coffee notes complement the roasted malt and bourbon flavors far better than the chocolate notes do. I get very little coffee on this beer compared to regular Cranium.
