16 ounce can - $4.25 at Listermann Brewing Company in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Appearance: Pours a dark brown, near black body with a receding, medium-sized, lightly creamyish, yellow-beige head.

Smell: Some flashes, some allusions of salted bar peanuts, low-grade chocolate, dark malts and dark fruits with a faint umami character. Satisfied? No, I am not yet satisfied.

Taste: Sweetish with a vague dark maltiness, vague in the sense there's never really any pull towards any particular flavor(s), but the chocolate flavor does some moseying in, so I guess there's that. Hints of sugar-sweetened cola, some slight dark fruits. Satisfied? No, Listermann, I don't particularly care for it.

Mouthfeel: Medium (again, always kinda light-leaning with these Listermann beers) body. Medium-low carbonation.

Overall: Satisfi-- sorry, but, no. Muddled, lackluster leaves paired with an equally lackluster base beer just doesn't do it for me.

12 oz can (no year or bottled date...) poured into a snifter at 58 degrees F:
L - dark dark coffee with a mocha head that lingered and some lacing
S - peanut butter, caramel
T - milk chocolate on the nose, peanut butter finish
F - medium airy mouthfeel with medium light carbonation
O - nice beer, no idea how old it is (I'm looking at you Listermann) but not getting any caramel at this point

12 oz bottle served in snifter.

Pours pitch black with a finger’s worth of brown foam.

Smell is mostly nutty with a hint of caramel and sugary sweetness.

Taste is mostly lactose and chocolate, the aromas of peanut and caramel are not evident in the flavor.

Mouthfeel is quite nice. It is thicker, but does not feel heavy, particularly for this style. Light carbonation allows flavors to move throughout the palate

12 FL OZ bottle
Served in a snifter

This beer pours black and is topped with less than an inch of mocha head that leaves spotty lacing.

The smell is milk chocolate, caramel, and something else. Is that nougat? And if I try really hard I can smell some peanuts.

The taste is mainly milk chocolate. I do get some caramel as well. The taste is not as rich as the aroma.

Full bodied

Another great beer from Listermann. I am so glad that my buddy hooks me up with a ton of their stuff. Dessert in a glass. And to answer the question, yes I am!
