12 fl. oz. bottle
Served in a snifter
2017
This beer pours very dark brown and is topped with an inch of tan head that leaves spotty lacing.
The smell is sweet with hazelnut, toffee, and caramel. Chocolate and brandy notes round it out.
The hazelnut is upfront. It is followed by chocolate and brandy. It has a little booziness which is always nice on a blustery day.
Full bodied with a syrupy mouthfeel
I really enjoy the brandy barrel treatment. It works well with the base beer for my palate.

2018 vintage. FOBAB Best of Show Runner-up. 12 oz. bottle purchaed at Listermann 10th anniversary party.
This iteration is 10.5% ABV.
Smells sweet: rich malts, hazelnuts, and potent brandy spirits all come through with a whiff.
Tastes like an awesome dessert beer! More hazelnut, brandy and sweet malts meld together very nicely.
Looks great in the glass all the way down.
Wish I bought more than one of these; what a great barrel aged brown ale! Staunch barrel presence, but highly drinkable. Best brandy barreled beer I've had.

Had on tap. The smell is an intoxicating dessert combination with the brandy and hazelnut, very luxurious. The taste is sweet up front with nuts and booze to finish, nice elements of toffee, slight vanilla, wood and brown sugar too. Little cloying on finish, but "double brown ale" thickening helps out. Very smooth
