16 oz can from Tavour. Hazy pour, as expected. Hops first in the aroma, followed by tropical fruit and citrus peel. Taste flips it around, starting with the fruit, then layering in some biting hops. Juicy and thick.

Hank was apparently a stray cat saved by the brewers off the streets of cincinnati, but you wouldn’t know that a filthy feline was the namesake of this delicious gold imperial from Listermann. Plenty of fruitful flavors come together in an an inoffensive ensemble, clocking in at 8.1% for a soothing Monday buzz. Very nice beer that I wish I knew where to find again closer to home... Guess I’ll have to find an excuse to go out to Cincy!

Poured from a 16 ounce can into an IPA glass.

Look- Frothy slightly off white head, deep gold, very hazy, slightly above average lacing and head retention.

Smell- Clementine, peach, mango, slightly lemon, slightly grassy.

Taste- Pineapple, mango, clementine, peach, slight lemon, slightly sweet finish.

Feel- Between medium and full body, soft, low bitterness, astringent yeasty finish, below average carbonation, nectar like.

Overall- Nice beer.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a one pint can on November 10, 2019. New England Style IIPA brewed in honor of their brewer John's cat. Hank was a stray cat that hung out by the dumpsters outside the brewery that he rescued, hence the name.

To commemorate the brewery's stray cat, a beer is born by the Listermann Brewing Company. The imperial IPA shares the hazy austere of New England varieties along with the hoppy perfume that celebrates all that cattiness.

Hank the Dumpster Kitty pours with a viscous visual weight that looks like lemon meringue. Its frothy white cap sheds an aromatic array of tropical fruit, vinous fruit, melon, berry and orchard varieties from a combination of Citra, Mosaic and El Dorado hops. Its upfront sweetness glosses the tongue with the light confectioner's sweetness of pastry, sherbet and fruit punch.

As the ale unfolds on the middle palate, its full fruity flavor comes racing onto the tastebuds. Juicy with mango, pineapple, apricot and papaya, the beer soon trends citrusy with under ripened orange and pink grapefruit. A slight vinous twang of white grape, gooseberry and honeydew keep the succulence coming. A light honey sweetness lingers behind to reinforce the impressions of fruit, right into a finish of bitter muddled grasses, herb and hemp.

Medium bodied and creamy, the malty dry ale carries a hop derived astringency that tucks nicely behind the sprucy hop resins and aids with dryness while laying a grassy spiciness with berry seeds, fruit skin and wine rot lingering deeply in aftertaste.
