Sweet stout with chocolate and cookies added. Poured from a bottle into a Brooklyn Brewery tulip. The pour is very dark, not too viscous, and sports an impressive 2 fingers of tan foam with excellent retention. On the nose I get toasted malt, cocoa, fresh bread, and a hint of creme brulee.
Medium body with a firm feel and a balanced flavor. Up front is toasted malt, toffee, and caramel. At mid-palate the sweetness persists and is joined by some cocoa. Towards the back of the palate there is a little roasty bitterness that keeps the sweetness in check. The finish is cocoa and cola.
Really enjoyed this one. It is very rich and malty with a little chocolate and not too much roast.
