From the growler via Jungle Jim's Eastgate in a snifter. This very enjoyable stout
pours a deep dark murky brownish black with a moderate head of light tan
dissipating foam that settles to a thick ring, thin slight pool, and displays some
spotty lacing. Nose of toasted coconut, subtle cream, sweet brown sugar with
hints of molasses, and deeply toasted malts with hints of char and nutty malts.
Flavors nail the idea of a tropical stout with brown sugar and touches of black strap
molasses touched by char and nutty malts that are balanced with a nicely done
toasted coconut note. Excellent mouth feel; medium body, medium lively carbonation
that gives this fine brew some lift, and a nicely done roasted finish balanced with
coffee and hints of fig with warmth.
Overall, one of the best coconut stouts I have ever had from a fantastic brewery.
Cheers
