From the growler via Jungle Jim's Eastgate in a snifter. This beastly brew
pours a coal black with a moderate head of brown foam that settles to a
thick ring, thin light clumping pool, and showcases some subtle lacing. Nose
of subtleties---dark sweet chocolate mainly comes through with a subtle
fruit note, and notes of boozy dark rum. Flavors hit the mark above and beyond
with mild pomegranate and dark chocolate syrup like harmonies with laces of
char touched malts and mild coffee hints. With warmth mild sea salt shows on the rear
with light herbal touches that accentuate the taste. Excellent mouth feel; full body,
rich, smooth, coating, low carbonation, and a fruit tinged chocolate syrup sweet laden
finish with a boozy warming finish.
Overall a SOLID brew from two of my favorite breweries. If fruit should be saved
for a famine this imperial shows different....water should be saved for a drought
by the way.....jes' sayin'-----this is one beefy brew that slides down smooth
Cheers
