A sweet and flavorful stout. The peanut butter and chocolate are at the forefront, which almost makes this a hazelnut stout. Vanilla and caramel are three, but mildly. Lighter than expected, booze is subtle. Not great, but acceptable.

Pours dark, bronze brown with a head of mini-bubbles that descends slowly. Aroma is complex, with tasting notes of caramel, chocolate, strong peanut butter, some vanilla and a hint, albeit small, of hazelnuts to me. The stout is strangely flat; no carbonation whatsoever. The aroma reminds one of cookies or cakes. Definitely creamy, though lacking some body; perhaps this might be a moderately bodied beer. Worth sampling.

The Works was an easy purchase from Listermann. It combines two of my favorite things, pastry stouts and The Office. You would think this one would be way too sweet, as it combines all the pretzel toppings that Michael wanted on pretzel day. However, it is perfectly sweet and really brings the chocolate/peanut butter. I would love a soft pretzel with this stout.

Pitch black with a brown cap that fades slowly. Nose is very sweet! Caramel, chocolate fudge, vanilla and general sugar colliding with peanut butter and nuts. Taste is sweet, but not as sweet as expected: chocolate and nuts lead, vanilla probably next strongest. Generally sweet cornucopia. Sugary, fudgy, and sneaky frothy in the creaminess. Diabetic nightmare that has surprisingly decent balance, just missing the cherry on top

Another bottle from Tavour that sounded so weird that something activated in my stupid brain. 12 oz. bottle.

The beer pours a style-appropriate black, & smells like the counter at my AMC Movie Complex – at least what I recall it smelled like in the distant past.

The Works tastes like that counter was put in a house-size blender, with stout added, & poured into a bottle to freak out innocent beer geeks like moi. It immediately brings to mind caramel cotton candy, which isn’t a thing in this world (I don’t think, & I hope not). Supremely sweet. Lactose, vanilla, the aforementioned caramel cotton candy, & just a touch of peanut butter in the finish. The sweetness thins it out a bit & leaves this with a maximum serving size of 12 ounces. Any more will cause canker sores & multiple tooth loss.

My dentist recommended this. Not sure why. Good beer that throws the kitchen sink into the mash.
