New England IPA brewed with Mosaic and Galaxy. Poured from a crowler into a Wicked Weed IPA glass. The pour is light orange and cloudy with a majestic three-finger crown of fine white foam with good retention. The nose has mild notes of pineapple, orange, and peach.
Medium light body with a soft feel and a fruit-forward hoppy flavor. Up front I get a faint flavor of cereal-like graininess, then immediately I taste lemon, pineapple, and kiwi. The bitterness is very, very soft and not palate-wrecking. Finishes very dry with lingering flavors of lemon and pineapple. A good companion to the blue cheese burger I am enjoying.
I cannot say enough good things about the New England IPAs that Listermann's is producing. Every time I go there (which isn't nearly often enough) I am dazzled. I like a good old fashioned hop bomb as much as the next BA, but there is something about a hazy IPA with soft bitterness and loads of tropical fruit that just hits the spot on a hot summer day.
