A - The pour is messy, a hazy dark orange, muddied and thick, leaving bits on the glass as you drink. Not much head, not much lacing, it looks fruit nectar rather than lush brew.

S - The foremost nose hit is cinnamon apple sauce. The spice is lovely, the fruit sweet and bright. Again, not very beer-like, but welcoming and attractive.

T - Big fruit, apple and pineapple, mango and peach, coconut and bright. A close is moderately acidic, tart, with a bit of woody bitterness that reminds me of unsweetened cinnamon. The coconut, in particular, lingers on after the finish.

M - This is a positive surprise, because I expected more gritty and heavy weight. There is some silt, and it is a hefty body, but it is manageable. The finish is just dry enough to avoid a cloying hit.

O - This is delicious. So I did enjoy it. But the look and feel come across as disasters averted, rather than something I wholly endorse. The result is a tightrope walk with a few big wobbles, but that gets to the other side. Glad I tried it, but I'm not 100% sure I'd seek it out again.

New England Tiki IPA brewed with Citra and El Dorado with coconut, pineapple, vanilla, and "ancient Tiki flavors" added (whew!). Poured from a can into a MadTree tulip. The pour is light orange in color and very hazy. It looks like Sunny D and I'm getting thirsty just looking at it. There is not much carbonation and what little head there is quickly dissipates (was my glass clean?). Smells like heaven. Ripe tropical fruit (oranges and peaches) and a little of the coconut and vanilla come through.

Medium body with a firm feel and a unique flavor. I get lemon and marmalade up front, then sweet oranges, coconut, nutmeg, and cinnamon creep in. The tropical fruit returns on the back of the palate and everything comes through on the finish. Wonderful summer beer - as I'm drinking this I have baby back ribs on the smoker and am reminded of how happy I am to be alive on this planet right now.

Another fantastic NE IPA from Listermann. I'm not sure this is something I would want to drink over and over, but the flavor was something quite new to me and I would love it if they would brew it again in the future so I can come back to it.
