Collaboration beer brewed with Bhramari Brewing (Asheville, NC). Pastry stout brewed with chocolate, vanilla, and coffee and aged in rye barrels. Served in a small snifter and tasted at the bottle release at the brewery and reviewed from notes. The pour is very, very dark (nearly black) with a thin layer of fine brown foam. The nose is very rich with a little roast. Lots of vanilla as well as some cocoa. Very full body with a creamy feel and a rich flavor. The flavor is not as sweet as I anticipated. There are strong flavors of vanilla, chocolate, toasted oak, and a nice rye spiciness. There is not as much coffee as I thought there would be, but still this was the most balanced of the four variants. My favorite of the 4.
