Solid matte black, almost purple, with a very fine, thin mocha film settling to nothing but a still black surface.
This is dangerously smooth, and deliciously drinkable for the ABV. There's minimal heat, a soft peanut character with a floral hazelnut sweetness that matches well with soft, smooth coconut in the medium-full stout body featuring a light carbonation finishing semi-sticky.

Collaboration beer brewed with Bhramari Brewing (Asheville, NC). Pastry stout brewed with chocolate, vanilla, and coffee and aged in coconut rum barrels. Served in a small snifter and tasted at the bottle release at the brewery and reviewed from notes. The pour is very, very dark (nearly black) with a thin layer of fine brown foam. The nose is very rich with strong notes of cocoa, vanilla, some coconut and a little toasted oak. Much more subtle on the nose than Bushwacker Rye or Bushwacker Caramel. Very full body with a creamy feel and a rich flavor. The flavor tastes candied, sweet, and pleasantly boozy. Like a brandy chocolate. Very dessert-like. You get all the aforementioned attributes of the nose on the palate. In addition, there is some ruby port on the finish. Overall, the most complex of the three. I wish it had more coffee and coconut.
