Chocolate Coconut Cake

Imperial stout with chocolate, vanilla, coconut, and lactose. Served on tap at Listermann's during the bottle release (DISCLAIMER: I was fighting a bad cold when I reviewed this, so this beer might be better than I give it credit for). Very dark pour - nearly black - with a nice tan head that slowly dies down to some nice lacing. On the nose I get some chocolate and coconut, but not so much that it smells like sun tan lotion. The beer is full-bodied and rich, but very well-balanced. Up front I get a nice blend of bitter roasted malt, unsweetened chocolate, milk chocolate, and sweet coconut. The coconut is fairly subdued, but as the beer warms it becomes more prominent. Highly recommended.
