12 FL OZ bottle
Served in a snifter
This beer pours very dark brown with just the faintest of ruby highlights coming through. It is topped with less than an inch of tan head that leaves spotty lacing.
I get chocolate, vanilla, and hazelnut with no effort. I get hints of cinnamon and pepper.
Vanilla and hazelnut are up front. Chocolate settles in next. Cinnamon is the next thing I taste. The pepper is in the finish and barely perceptible.
Medium bodied with a smooth, lighter than expected mouthfeel
This is a good variant. I, unlike most of the craft beer world, don't get a beer hardon for "Mexican" stouts. I am not a huge cinnamon fan. That said, I do like it but would not put it at the top of the Chickow! variant list.
