"Imperial Pastry Stout with Chocolate, Spices and Spaghetti."
Interesting find at the Vintage Estate apparently its not distributed so the owner buys it directly from the brewer. Explains the hefty $7.50 price tag,
A - Looks excellent just a 1/4 inch of deep mocha foam atop of such a dark vicious beer poured like molasses so dark no light can escape. My its been a while since I had such a stout.
S - Slight aroma's of nutmeg or cinnamon dark chocolate and mild dark fruits this beer isn't as aromatic as I expected but its not offensive roasted malts taking a backseat with no notes of herbal hops or coffee.
T - First impression WOW is this stout heavy and sweet like personified brownie. It does have a slight bit of tannic roast in the finish which could be from the hops but man does it taste full bodied and sweet. Dark and sweet milk chocolates bury any flavors of the spices I have smelled earlier. A beast of a beer.
M - As described heavy but smooth at at the time appreciated since it no only covers the ABV with sweetness but coming after a bunch of 5% beers a shock to the system.
Overall very surprised to not see this beer on this site with countless people reviewing it on Untapped and not liking it I can say it may not be for everyone but really reminds me of what I truly appreciate about this big bold style
