Served in a snifter
This beer pours dark brown with some ruby highlights. It is topped with an inch of tan head that leaves spotty lacing.
Of course I smell hazelnut. If I didn't know there were oatmeal cookies in here I probably wouldn't notice the aroma. I think my brain is forcing me to make that distinction.
It tastes very similar to the original. The hazelnut isn't as strong. I get a little coffee flavor. I can't really detect the oatmeal cookie. There is a little milk chocolate in the aftertaste.
Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel
All the Chickow!s are excellent. This is no exception. This is one of the tamer variants though.
