Going back to my cellar, I opted for a pastry stout. The pour created a frothy, creamy, one-fingered, light tan head with poor retention. The quick dissipation left no lacing on the glass, only a ring around the glass. The color is dark brown, nearly black, charting at SRM 36, and opaque. The appearance of the beer is average for this style. I was hoping for a longer-lasting head with something left on the glass.
Nosing the glass, I smell dark chocolate, char, Maillard, tobacco, marshmallows, vanilla, dark brown sugar, raisins, figs, caramel, toffee, dark roasted malts, and nutmeg. Smelling the beer again, I notice resin, earthiness, leather, grassy, and light floral ester.
Sipping the beer, I taste dark chocolate, nutmeg, raisin, char, light smoke, soy sauce, brown sugar, vanilla, marshmallows, vanilla, dates, caramel, toffee, grassy, dark roasted malts, malty sweetness, resin, earthiness, and light herbal note.
The mouthfeel is creamy and chewy, finishing smooth. The body is medium-plus and has low carbonation.
I was unsure what to expect from this beer. The char and smoke are a bit cumbersome, making the beer clunky. The beer is relatively sweet, bordering on cloying. The chocolate flavor is bittersweet, dry, and cheap. I am not a fan of this beer. The nutmeg is out of place, too.

Pours dark brown with a golden brown tinged head of foam, with little lacing. Aroma is vanilla and marshmallow, with a hint of malt. Taste is sweet marshmallow with chocolate. The vanilla profile is supressed along with only a hint of nutmeg at the end. Altogether a pleasant brew and one of their better pastry stouts.

Double S'morty is the base beer with extra bang. There is a lot more sweetness and the beer is a lot thicker. The campfire bite is lost a bit but still holds it down in the S'more stout department.

12oz bottle from Tavour. Near black pour, thin ring of beige head. Aroma is marshmallow first, then chocolate, sweet. Taste continues the marshmallow, vanilla and chocolate adding some nice roasty malts and coffee notes. Sugary sweet throughout.
