16 ounce can, no dating that I could find on the can or label. Thanks to Brutaltruth for this! Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with not quite an inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like caramel, chocolate, roasted malt, marshmallows and some vanilla. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some earthy, coffee, anise and dark bready flavors noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's a bit slick and creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I liked this one, certainly worth trying if you come across some!

Randomly ordered on tap at the brewery. Better than expected. Chocolate and marshmallow thing going on over the top of deeply roasted malts. Bitter finish.

Canned on: ?????
A - Black pour with thin caramel colored creamy lacing.
S - Big chocolate, sticky fudge brownie nose with a mild amount of roast.
T - Same as the nose: Chocolate, some fudge brownie, a slight bit of roast, marshmallow, residual caramel, and some chocolate char bitterness on the back side.
M - Big silky body that leaves a sticky, sugary residue on the lips.
O - Very solid, some proceeds going for a good cause, and worth a try.

From the 16 oz can in a snifter. This monster pours a coal black with a
very nice head of light brown foam that settles to a thick ring, thin
swirling layer, and displays some nice light lacing. Nose of marshmallow
cream, char, dark bakers chocolate, and touches of coffee. Flavors
surpass the nose with dark bakers chocolate, marshmallow cream,
char, roast, subtle smoke, dark coffee touches, dark berry notes
of blackberry, raisin, and dark bread. Mouth feel is full, smooth,
very rich, coating, subtly slick, and finishing with a sweet roasted
bitter malt finish that is nicely warming.
Overall, a solid imperial that teeters on being cloying but does a nice
balancing act. In total, another great Listermann sweet imperial.
Cheers
