This was poured into a thistle.
The appearance was a dark brown color with some light amber hues along the sides of the glass. Thin white foamy head slid off fairly quick to leave some light semi-clingy lace.
The aroma had some raisins, brown sugar, breadiness and a little bit of caramel/toffee malts.
The flavor brought the sweetness from the prior mentioned aromas together to ride on into the aftertaste fairly nice.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate. Nice expected "wee heavy" smoothness rolling along my tongue. Nice smooth semi-sweet malty finish.
Overall, I liked this one for me but was hoping for some smokiness or some light peatiness. Still, I'd have again if I could get it again.

From the 12 oz bottle in a snifter. This FINE Scottish style pours a rugged
dark brown with amber highlights and a nice had of light tan foam that subsides
to a thick ring, thin subtle pool, and sports some nice sudsy lacing. Nose of rich raisins
and brown sugars awash in breaded malts. Flavors hit the perfect notes for a wee heavy
more than a "Scottish style". Rich raisin bread melds with brown sugar and a touch of
toffee with very subtle herbal hop notes on the rear that melt into a buttery smooth
alcoholic warmth with a touch of dark black berry and dark cherry flavors on the rear.
Excellent mouth feel---rich, smooth, nothing overbearing or out of sorts. Light carbonation,
medium to lightly full mouth feel, and a sweet malty finish.

Overall-----me LIKEY A LOTY!

Cheers

12 Fl. Oz. bottle
Served in a snifter

This beer appears brown when poured. When held to the light rust colored highlights come through. It is topped with an inch of khaki head that leaves some decent lacing.

Rich malty aroma with hints of booze. It has some dark, dried fruit smell, too.

The flavor follows the smell. It is sweet and malty with some subtle raisin and prune. The alcohol is better hidden in the taste.

Medium to full bodied with medium to low carbonation.

This is a solid Scottish-style ale. I like the style, so I have not had many bad ones. Triple Digit makes a lot of good beers.

12 oz bottle, poured into a snifter at ~40 degrees F.

Appearance: Pours a gorgeous clear garnet brown, much like a deep mahogany wood. Forms a very pale off-white head, which dissipates swiftly into a ring with a couple cap islands.

Smell: Thick caramel sweetness, sprinkled with toffee and poured over a loaf of dark bread beside a bowl of black cherries.

Taste: That is decadent. The caramel-toffee swirl from the nose is present, but muted beneath a mix of pumpernickel-esque bread and earthy, wooden peat. An array of dark fruit manifests as the beer moves along the palate, with black cherry, raisin, and prune all making cameo appearances. The ABV makes itself known only at the finish, with a little heat in the swallow and aftertaste, alongside a slurry of caramel, toffee, and peat.

Mouthfeel: Creamy, and on the thicker side of medium-bodied, with decent carbonation.

Overall: This wee heavy can stand with some of the best. Don't let the ABV fool you, this one is not barrel-aged - it just has all the kick of a BA wee heavy, and a flavor depth and complexity that is up there near Skull Splitter.
