Reviewed from notes taken in Poland years ago.
On-draught into a weissbier glass at a bar. .5litre/12 zloty in Wroclaw.
HEAD: None; any head recedes immediately after pouring, leaving no lacing.
BODY: Glowing orange-auburn. Translucent. Nontransparent. I see no yeast or sediment within in spite of this beer ostensibly being unfiiltered.
Overall. it's a pleasant enough appearance, but isn't unique or special. There are no egregious flaws. Appears adequately carbonated.
AROMA: Sweet. Caramalt. Amber malt. CaraMunich malt. Bread crust. Toast. Fruity hop notes/ale yeast fruity esters. Autumnal spice.
A pleasant malt-dominant aroma of average strength. I detect no yeast, alcohol. or off-notes.
TASTE: It's young, tasting somewhere between a market-ready beer and wort. Caramalt, caraMunich malt, fruity hop flavour, and autumnal spice - perhaps nutmeg? It's a bit tea-like as well. And too sweet overall.
Depth, duration, and intensity of flavour are average. It doesn't have much complexity or subtlety, nor is this build unique or special. Cohesive but unbalanced. A higher attenuation/stronger yeast would help greatly; there are too many residual sugars here for it to be pleasant. I can feel my teeth yearning for cleaning as I drink it.
TEXTURE: Sugary and lightly coarse and rough as a result. Wet, undercarbonated, and unrefreshing. Light to medium-bodied. Doesn't complement the taste all that well. Not oily, astringent, harsh, gushed, hot, boozy, scratchy, or dragging on the palate. Overall presence on the palate is okay at best.
OVERALL: Suffers from fundamental flaws. This requires more time in fermentation and/or better attenuated yeast. It's not a good beer and probably shouldn't even have made it to market, but there are nice elements here (the tea-like note a highlight in particular, especially given the lack of any accompanying astringency). I hope this brewery's other beers are more consistent.
