Another July 9, 2016 beer. I'm always reluctant to try hoppy beers out of Las Vegas, just haven't been impressed with anything over the years.

Pours a light amber color with around 1/2" of off white head. Aroma was mostly bittering hops and caramel like crystal malt notes alongside woody pine.

Taste, woof, this is both massively bitter and full of alcohol heat. Lots of grapefruit rind and bitter pine. Centennial and Cascade come to mind the most. Pretty thick malt bill on this one. Commercial tug job says tangerine but the citrus going on here is the unsweetened, bitter rind kind. In a way, scoring this as average is grade elevation, because it truly is a below average dipa, but since its one of my favorite styles, it is slightly justified in my world. I like to try and support 'local' beers from my state (even if I do live over 400 miles away from the brewery) but I just didn't find this one to be worthy, from a format or quality viewpoint.

Also the abv on mine is 9.3%.

This is the brewery's Hoppy Times IPA ramped up to 9.3% abv. Has a nice pale straw look with a smidge of haze. Taste is pretty darn similar to the single IPA version featuring a load of evergreen, resin, pine and dankness. Bitter on the finish with the malt barely being present even at the high abv. Mouthfeel is sticky, wet and viscuous.

Interesting woody cedar-like hop profile. Crisp and dry.
