Picked up on 1/26/18
Poured from a 12oz bottle into a snifter
Normal pour produced no visible head,
Body is a muddy brown almost whiskey color
Aroma is immediately intense bourbon followed by the Sumatra coffee, but after warming a bit I’m getting some sweet fruit notes, maybe plums or dates
Taste is bitter bourbon up front with a sugar sweet creamy coffee finish, no alcohol detection
Feel is thinner then I’d expect, very little carbonation, leaves my mouth feeling like I drank some milk, with zero alcohol burn
(I had this on draft at the release, and no barrel aging notes were there so that little time in the bottle really helped bring them out)
Overall a good take on a cream and sugar ale, wish it had more alcohol burn tho, will probably pick up another bottle to let it age longer
