A boisterous, yet elegant, display of what happens when you pack a mash ton to capacity. Rich and luscious with seemingly infinite levels of malty complexities and flavors. Rumor has it, if you look up the definition of masterpiece, you'll find a picture of a whale.

Just got this one in at work, only been in for two weeks or so, assuming it’s still pretty fresh being local, aggressive pour from a 12oz can into a snifter produces a small half inch off-white head that quickly dissipates into a filmy layer with very few bubbles, leaves splotchy lacing
Body is a very nice amber red
Aroma is sweetly weird at first, hard to pick apart but I’m getting some dank hops mixed with bready malt notes, as it warms some dark red fruit start to come out, alchohol presence is slightly there
Taste isnt what I’d expected, very bitter up front but a slightly sweet finish, hard to split everything apart, like I can tell fruits in there but only for a second, grapes like a wine(duh)
Feel is just right, it’s thick like a stout but it dries out pretty quickly near the end, low carbonation
Overall, I like this barley wine enough to recommend it to a friend, especially at 7.99 a 4 pack, and honestly had I let it age more I probably would’ve rated it higher(will have to revisit)
